You can expect to hear an outcome of the review within four weeks for domestic courses or 45 days for international courses.

If you are planning to transfer in course credits from another institution, it's a good idea to check and see how your courses will transfer. You can use Transferology to check to see if a course has already been reviewed for transfer. The University of Minnesota Twin Cities uses Transferology as our public Transfer Course database. New courses are added weekly as they are reviewed. See user guides for Transferology. If you have a course that has not been evaluated, you may submit that course for review. You should receive an email response within four weeks. If you have questions about the results or you have unique circumstances please contact your transfer counselor.
A syllabus or detailed course outline is required to submit a course for evaluation. You must attach the syllabus in PDF format when you submit your course for review. The syllabus should include a week-by-week outline of assignments and readings as well as textbook information. Please note that you may need to include multiple original documents to supply this information
If you are submitting a course for review as an upper division Spanish course, please include the following: a sample of a substantial writing assignment (without identifying information) and the primary language of instruction for the course.

International Credits - Recently Admitted/Current Students and Advisors/StaffThis path is for recently admitted/current University of Minnesota Twin Cities students and University of Minnesota Twin Cities advisors/staff submitting international coursework and requires login for submission.
At this time, international courses are only reviewed after a student confirms their enrollment and should NOT be submitted using the course credit review process. For more information, visit the International Transfer Credits page.
Study Abroad: University of Minnesota Twin Cities resident-credit courses are evaluated through the Learning Abroad Center. If you are unsure about the type of credit your course offers, contact [email protected] . If it is a non-affiliated study abroad program, visit Non-Affiliated Study Abroad Program.
If you are transferring credit to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities that is NOT from a study abroad program, follow the steps below.
Submit your official transcript to the Office of Admissions. The Office of Admissions International unit evaluates coursework of institutions outside of the United States to determine if the institution and coursework are transferable to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and if any courses fulfill Liberal Education (LE) requirements.
If the institution and coursework are transferable, Admissions will post transfer credits on your Transfer Credit Report. This evaluation contains courses that have transferred to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and whether or not any Liberal Education (LE) requirements have been met.
Submit your syllabus (with English translation, if appropriate) to determine if your approved transfer course can be used to meet major requirements at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. The syllabus should include a week-by-week outline of assignments and readings as well as textbook information. You may need to include multiple documents to supply this information. A department will review your course and determine if your transfer course is equivalent to a University of Minnesota Twin Cities course.
Once the department has completed your evaluation, you will be notified of the decision via the email address you entered on the submission form. Your academic record will be updated with equivalency information. This process can take up to approximately 45 business days.
